What SayMaya handles on a Shopify store
Updated by the SayMaya team
The short answer
SayMaya does four jobs on a Shopify storefront: it answers order status questions after verifying the shopper, answers product questions from your live catalog, keeps chat answered while your team is offline, and hands chats to your team inbox when a person is needed. Each page below shows exactly how one works.
Order status questions
"Where is my order?" answered from live Shopify order data, but only after the shopper gives an order number and the matching email. No match, no order details, and the AI never changes an order.
Product questions
Sizes, materials, stock, prices and active discounts, read from your store at the moment the shopper asks. Guardrails stop the AI from inventing codes, deals or promises.
After-hours chat
The AI keeps answering while your team is offline. Chats that need a person wait in the inbox with an email notice, and the chat asks the shopper for an email so your team can reply later.
Handoff to a team
When a shopper asks for a person, the AI is unsure, or a request moves money, the chat moves to your shared inbox with the full conversation and your team gets an email.
What do all four have in common?
The same rule: the AI answers what has a clear answer in your store data and passes everything else to a person. You decide what it may read, in Settings: products, inventory, orders, policies and discounts.

What does it cost to use all of them?
